Purdue University is seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented Conference Coordinator to join our dynamic team. In this critical support role, you will work alongside accomplished professionals who are passionate about creating meaningful experiences for our campus, partners, and community.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support for individuals, groups, or departmental initiatives

  • Manage calendars, coordinate meetings, and arrange logistics, working closely with our innovative Event Planning team

  • Play a hands-on role in program registration management, ensuring a seamless process from start to finish

  • Prepare for and execute onsite registration, helping deliver exceptional events that make a difference

  • Serve as a reliable resource for customer service, engaging guests in person, by phone, and by email

What We're Looking For

Education and Experience Required:

  • High School Degree or High School Equivalency (HSE)
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in customer service

 

Skills Needed:

  • Maintain:
    • excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills
    • calendars, schedule meetings, provide support materials, and record and distribute minutes
  • Manage registrations in database on behalf of event planning team
  • Arrange travel, order supplies, maintain files, make copies, distribute incoming & outgoing mail, and ensure proper functioning office equipment
  • Ability to:
    • handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality
    • identify routine problems and implement or recommend solutions
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
  • Computer & related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, internet, etc.
  • Typing, drafting, filing, data entry, proofreading and editing skills
  • Update & maintain mailing lists, databases, and website
  • Compose routine correspondence and draft non-routing correspondence
