Facilities Attendant -Overnight

Job Summary

As the Overnight Facilities Attendant, you will provide facilities and customer support overnight. Monitor entrance and departure of users. This position will write reports of nightly building counts and submit them to Building Directors of the appropriate buildings, write up Incident reports covering irregularities and any Police involvement. Circulate among visitors, patrons and employees, traversing the building regularly to preserve order, observing customers, answer questions, and answer phone calls. You will respectfully inform persons of rule infractions or violations, and alternative actions to comply with Purdue Library’s standard of acceptable behavior.  Follow the guidance as directed by Protect Purdue policies. This position will submit facilities work requests to building deputy or supervisor, documenting conditions as necessary. These requests can be from damage, wear and tear or structural problems of the furniture, flooring, or generally the building. You will assist Libraries Facilities with minor repairs when able. You will record Patron totals in a Google sheet after every round in the assigned Library. The facilities attendant will call police, fire, or other first responders in cases of emergency as well report suspicious activity as directed. 

 

Summer hours will be at supervisor’s discretion and will be communicated by the supervisor. Remote work will be provided when necessary.

Please note this is an overnight position from 12:00am to 8:00am Wednesday through Sunday.
 

What We're Looking For:

 

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma/GED 
  • Two (2) years of relevant work experience required

 

Skills needed:

  • Good communications skills
  • Basic computer knowledge in Microsoft, Word, and Excel
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn Purdue policies and Protect Purdue
