Job Title:  Financial Aid Administrator III, Departmental Scholarships

Job Summary

This administrator manages Purdue’s High Merit scholarships—including Trustees, Presidential, Emerging Leader, Indy Scholars, Lilly Scholars, Beering, Stamps, and departmental awards—and leads the High Merit Scholarship Appeal Committee, coordinating all merit appeals and assisting with appeal decisions. The role involves monitoring weekly COGNOS reports to spot any funds that haven’t paid out, resolving disbursement issues, and communicating with campus partners. As a key resource, the administrator supports partners with scholarship guidance, provides training, and shares policy updates.

Additionally, this position is part of the Division of Financial Aid counseling team, assisting students and families in person, by phone, email, and virtually, ensuring everyone receives clear and caring support throughout their scholarship journey.

Education and Experience

Qualified candidates will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of (4) four years of customer service experience.
  • Ability to balance interruptions, perform multiple and varied tasks, and handle confidential information with discretion.

 

Skills required:

  • Strong writing, customer service, and communication skills and attention to detail.


  

What is Helpful:

  • Financial Aid and funds management experience, Microsoft Excel, and database/technical experience preferred.
