Job Summary

The Scholarship Administrator manages and awards unit and donor-funded scholarships, serving as the main point of contact for the academic unit’s scholarship recommendation process. This role works closely with departments to ensure that recommendations are submitted on time in Slate (CRM), and regularly monitors COGNOS reports to identify any scholarship funds that have not been disbursed, following up as needed to resolve concerns. Responsibilities include maintaining scholarship funds in platforms such as Ellucian and Scholarship Universe, and supporting the Assistant Director with the central scholarship application and unit referral processes in Slate (CRM).

Additional duties include counseling students, parents, and university partners on financial aid eligibility for federal, state, institutional, and private programs. The Administrator keeps policies and procedures current, ensures thorough documentation for compliance, and regularly communicates updates to the team. Financial aid awards are processed in alignment with all applicable policies, with a focus on providing efficient, supportive service for students and campus partners.

Education and Experience

Qualified candidates will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of four (4) years of customer service experience. 


Skills needed:

  • Ability to balance interruptions, perform multiple and varied tasks, and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong writing, customer service, and communication skills and attention to detail.


What is helpful:

  • Candidates with customer service experience in Higher Education, Development, Foundations, or Banking.
  • Financial Aid and funds management experience, Microsoft Excel, and database/technical experience.
