Flight Simulator Technician
Job Summary
The Flight Simulator Technician is responsible for providing maintenance and other operational support to the School of Aviation and Transportation Technology advanced flight simulators, including a Hawker 900XP full-motion flight simulator, Airbus 320 flight simulator, Boeing 737 flight simulator, and others. The position ensures the simulators are performing within manufacturer and Federal Aviation Administration specifications to deliver instruction for the school’s Professional Flight program. Responsible for independently performing installation, testing, modification, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of advanced electronic systems and equipment, including video, fiber optic, data cable, and other electronic and mechanical flight simulator equipment, as well as software installation and testing. The position ensures the flight simulator systems conform to required codes and standards and provides technical support and knowledge to coworkers.
What We’re Looking For:
Education and Experience:
- Associates or vocational degree
- Two or more years’ experience in flight simulators, electronic technologies, avionics, aircraft maintenance, or related fields
Preferred:
- Degree in electronic technology, avionics, or a related field
- Experience working with full-motion flight simulators and/or aircraft maintenance
Skills Needed:
- Demonstrate experience completing assigned tasks on time and with an emphasis on accuracy
- Proven ability to troubleshoot microprocessor-based systems
- Ability to complete system-level troubleshooting with software programs and utilities
- Skilled in areas of customer service with strengths in written and verbal communication
- Must work independently and effectively collaborate in a team environment, contribute to identifying problems, implement solutions, and reach common goals
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
