Gifted Education Research & Resource Institute Program Manager

Job Summary

The program manager will report to the Director and Associate Director of the Gifted Education Research & Resource Institute (GER2I) and work closely with youth program coordinators performing administrative functions, such as supervising GER2I staff; ensuring that GER2I enrichment programs are compliant with Purdue's Office of Ethics and Compliance Youth Program policies, scheduling meetings and events, and collecting and organizing program evaluation data.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising youth program coordinators.
  • Managing, marketing, and operating enrichment programs for K-12 students and professional development for teachers.
  • Purchasing instructional materials, office supplies, and classroom supplies for youth enrichment and professional development programs
  • Conducting teacher and staff training
  • Communicating with internal and external constituents (e.g., directors, coordinators, parents, students, and program staff)
  • Assisting with program evaluation and using evaluation data for program improvement

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two years of relevant experience
  • Leadership skills and experience with staff supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proofreading, editing, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collegially with international, national, and local school partners with diverse populations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong organizational/time management skills
  • Computer and related software skills including Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate in a timely manner with the GER2I directors youth program staff
  • Ability to interpret and follow policies and procedures and to proactively resolve issues or improve processes in consultation with GER2I directors and youth program staff

  • Commitment to the mission and work of GER2I

What is Helpful:

  • Master's degree in an education related field
  • Three or more years of experience in education settings (e.g., school, summer program)
  • General knowledge of gifted education and/or talent development
