Events & Recruitment Coordinator

Job Summary

The Events & Recruitment Coordinator is primarily responsible for planning, marketing, and facilitating Purdue Graduate School hosted events, working under the direction of the Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions to determine overall event structure and budget.  The Graduate Admissions Coordinator also assists with recruitment and outreach responsibilities, including communications, website updates, social media post creation, and graduate fair registrations.  Responsible for distributing recruitment materials, maintaining admissions records, and working with student advisory groups.  This role will be responsible for the Big 10+ Graduate School Expo as well as the Midwest Summit, two of the largest events of the year.



  • BA/BS
  • One or more years of experience working in an office environment managing on-site events from concept to completion
  • Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of required education and related experience
  • Experience with recruitment email campaign and familiarity with other promotional tools, including graphic design, social media and updating affiliated web pages
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently, consistently, and correctly while meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to provide quality results in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong grammar and editing skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to execute concepts through graphic design
  • Aptitude for learning new computer platforms and technical skills
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office Word, Outlook, Qualtrics, Excel


  • BA/BS in Marketing, Communication, Business or other related field
  • Experience with recruitment email campaign and other promotional material development including graphic designs, social media, and updating affiliated web pages
  • Experience in all phases of recruitment, from concept development to reporting outcomes
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign) and Cascade
