Graduate Program Coordinator
Job Summary
The Graduate Program Coordinator will provide clerical administrative support for the Agricultural Sciences Education and Communication Graduate Program independently performing non-routine administrative functions while exercising discretion and a high degree of confidentiality. In this role, you will provide administrative support to the ASEC Graduate Committee, act a liaison between Graduate School and department, coordinate and mentor faculty, staff and graduate students through the Graduate School guidelines and procedures, and monitor progress toward degree completion of graduate students. In addition, you will organize graduate student related events, create new student files and maintain all graduate student records and timeline processes as well as assist and provide professional development opportunities for graduate students and serve as travel delegate for assigned faculty and all graduate students. This positions works as part of a team that provides clerical support to faculty and staff in the department.
What We're Looking For:
- High School diploma/GED
- 3 years’ experience in an administrative support, graduate programs or graduate student support role
- Knowledge of Graduate School practices and policies
- Ability to explain graduate program policies and procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within the department and to address constituent needs
- Demonstrated organizational, time and process management skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to interpret policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues or improve processes
- Ability to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions
- Drafting, editing and proofreading skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe and Word as well as some familiarity in SLATE, SAP Banner, Cognos, and Concur
Nice To Have:
- Associate's degree in Organizational Development, Education, Communications, Human Resources, Business or a related field
