Job Summary

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) plays a key role in fostering a positive, engaged, and high-performing workplace.  This position works collaboratively with faculty and staff, and leadership to align human resources strategies with organizational goals, promote best practices and strengthen workplace culture across the University. The role actively partners to address a variety of workplace issues and opportunities, and diagnoses human resource or organizational development needs.  The HR Business Partner provides consultation and support to optimize talent management, organizational structure, processes, and culture.  Serving as a liaison between assigned departments and the Office of the Vice President for Human Resources, the HRBP team ensures HR strategies are effectively implemented to achieve exceptional results.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide HR consultation, coaching, and advice to managers, supervisors, and employees across assigned colleges or units
  • Develop innovative approaches to serve departmental needs, promote engagement, and advance organizational effectiveness
  • Participate in or lead HR process improvement projects and assist with HR initiative implementations
  • Collaborate with Compensation, Talent Acquisition, and Leadership & Organizational Development to assess needs and deliver solutions

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • Two or more years of HR generalist or business partner experience
  • Demonstrated success advising, and providing consultative support to people across multiple levels
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated project management and change management skills
  • Analytical and data management skills with the ability to translate data into action planning
  • Demonstrated successful experience in influencing people
  • Skill in drawing actionable insights from raw information and data

What Is Helpful:

  • SPHR or PHR certification
