Dual Career & Relocation Specialist

Job Summary

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Purdue's Faculty Dual Career & Relocation Services.  The Office provides both relocation services to prospective new faculty and dual career services for the accompanying faculty spouses and partners who are part of the University faculty recruitment or retention effort.  Responsibilities include networking with University departments and external employers to provide dual-career services for the accompanying faculty spouses and partners who are part of the University faculty retention effort.  Responsibilities include networking with University departments and external employers to assist dual-career spouses and partners in securing employment.  Meet with prospective or new faculty who are relocating to the Purdue area to provide them relevant material.  Provide information to new and potential faculty regarding:  Purdue policies, benefits and retirement, campus climate, disability resources, parking and transportation, libraries, campus groups, moving reimbursement, faculty and staff tuition reimbursement programs, discounts and perks, and temporary housing.

REVISED:

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Leadership, Human Resources, Business, Behavioral Science, Counseling or a related field
  • Three or more years of experience in career counseling, training/development, outplacement, recruitment or other related experience.
  • Ability to articulate a strong commitment to diversity and have the ability to work effectively with individuals from different backgrounds.
  • Experience in the use of social media to engage and connect with partners and employers
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Analytical and data management skills with the ability to translate data into action planning.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in influencing people
  • Ability to travel occasionally

 

PREFERRED:

  • Previous sales experience
