Head Teacher

Job Summary


The Head Teacher supports the daily operations of the assigned classroom. This includes establishing and maintaining a safe and supportive classroom environment, planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum, modeling best teaching practices, and supervising other classroom staff and Purdue students, and facilitation of ongoing research. The Head Teacher supervises the morning program for children, and develops and maintains professional relationships with staff, parents and students.





  • BA/BS degree in early childhood education, child development or closely related field
  • Three years of teaching experience with young children 
  • Must be able to take initiative in implementing program goals and providing developmentally appropriate early childhood curriculum
  • Must be effective working with children and adults
  • Must be able to manage a classroom of young children through positive guidance
  • First aid & CPR training required before starting
  • Candidates must be 21 years or older
  • This position requires a pre-employment drug screening test, criminal background, and a health assessment.

  • FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible For Overtime)
