As a Heating & Cooling Mechanic for the Operations and Maintenance Department, you will:

What We're Looking For:

Note: This position represents a dual-level posting and will be filled as an Associate Heating and Cooling Mechanic (SK1) or a Heating and Cooling Mechanic (SK2). The hiring manager will determine the job level based on the skills, experience, and qualifications of the selected candidate.

 

Education and Experience for SK1:

  • High school diploma/GED is required.
  • 0 years' experience with Heating and Cooling equipment.

Education and Experience for SK2:

  • High school diploma/GED is required.
  • 3 years' experience with Heating and Cooling equipment.

Skills needed:

  • SK1:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Mathematical calculation skills necessary.
  • Computer skills/familiarity with word processor and spreadsheets required.
  • Able to utilize electronic procurement system.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 to 80 lbs. frequently, and up to 100 lbs. or more occasionally required.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolds and work from height up to 100 feet.
  • Ability to work under a variety of conditions, such as confined space (tunnels, pits), heights and hot/cold conditions.
  • Required to work outdoors 30% of the time in temperatures below 32 degrees and above 90 degrees.
  • Valid driver's License required.
  • SK2 (above skills plus):
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manufacturer instructions and guidelines  
  • Industrial, commercial and/or residential heating and cooling and refrigeration experience
