What You'll be Doing:
Install, maintain and repair all domestic potable and sanitary piping systems. Install, maintain and repair all processes piping systems such as; chilled water, steam, air and gas systems, high and low pressure steam lines, heating systems, air compressors, pneumatic controls, etc. Maintain, troubleshoot and repair piping systems including valves, gaskets, controls, pipe sections etc. Work independently and with the guidance of Crew Chief or Supervisor if needed. Refer to blueprints, schematics, manufacture instructions/guidelines and verbal instruction to install piping systems, controls, etc. Utilize computer skills and appropriate software for work orders, purchase orders and communication with customers. Assist with the training of lower level industrial plumbers.
Overtime, scheduled or unscheduled may be required to accomplish tasks. Periodically on call for a week at a time required. May require working in adverse weather conditions, confined spaces and heights. Must adhere to Purdue University safety procedures and training.
The normal work schedule for this role is Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with compensation ranging from $20.97 to $29.14, based on qualifications and experience.

What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience
Qualified Candidates Will Need:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience in steam system repair and residential, commercial, or municipal plumbing.
- Cross Connection (backflow) certification preferred
Skills Needed:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with good oral and written communications
- Able to train, learn and perform to continue education
- Assist with installation, maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting of various piping systems and auxiliary equipment
- Able to lift and carry 25 to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 60 lbs. occasionally
- Knowledge of plumbing hand tools, power equipment including but not limited to threaders, drain cleaning equipment
- Steel toe safety shoes are required during all working hours
- Valid driver's licenses required
