Job Summary
This position will support Instructor of Record for VN courses by helping to deliver instruction in Veterinary Nursing On-campus courses, assisting in on-campus VN teaching laboratories, and developing additional course materials (objectives, evaluations, instructional material) as needed.
This role supports the Veterinary Nursing Program through a wide range of instructional, administrative, and outreach responsibilities. It includes assisting in on-campus veterinary nursing laboratories to ensure a safe and effective learning environment for students and live animals, with tasks such as lab setup and breakdown, supporting learning activities, and aiding in student assessment and grading. The individual serves as co-chair of the Pet Professor Program and contributes to numerous laboratory courses across small and large animal nursing, dentistry, surgical nursing, anesthesia, diagnostic imaging, parasitology, anatomy, physiology, and lab animal care. As a principal instructor for designated VNRS courses, responsibilities include developing syllabi, managing online course platforms, engaging with students, grading, and ensuring course content reflects current scientific standards. The role also involves leading a summer study abroad experience, supporting Veterinary Nursing Distance Learning summer workshops, and performing educational and administrative duties as assigned by the Program Director.

The starting salary for this position will range from $55,000 to $60,000 annually, based on experience and skills.
What We’re Looking For:
Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2 years of experience in Veterinary Technology or veterinary profession
- Must be a registered veterinary nurse/technician from an AVMA accredited program
- Experience supervising assistants, staff, or students
Skills needed:
- Must be a registered veterinary technician/equivalent or eligible for credentialing in Indiana
- Must have excellent communication skills with peers, supervisors, and students
- Must have excellent organizational skills
- Must process a service-oriented attitude, positive attitude towards work, and skills to interact in a positive manner with a wide variety of faculty and staff personalities
- Correspondence, technical, and medical keyboarding skills
- Supervisory skills
