Instructional Design Manager

The Instructional Design Manager will lead and manage instructional design and media staff to develop programs and courses to support University initiatives. Provide oversight for complex projects and collaborate with college stakeholders and their faculty to design and develop online, hybrid and face-to-face courses. Oversee design of digital course content with faculty members, assist with curriculum development, and integration of teaching and learning technology tools

Provide overall leadership and direction for assigned staff. 



  • Bachelor's degree in technology, business or related fields 
  • Three years professional experience in education designing, developing, and/or teaching courses, including experience with leading/managing projects, teams, or instructional services
  • In lieu of degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Effectively manage and motivate team members 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate with all levels of the university community and the ability to work across organizational boundaries, particularly in the areas of teaching and learning 
  • Ability to research, assess, select, implement and support instructional media and emerging technologies that benefit the university's teaching and learning priorities 
  • Expertise in applying learning theory and pedagogy to develop instructional design strategies
  • Knowledge and application of best practices using technology for teaching and learning, including but not limited to, multimedia development, web conferencing, learning management systems, social networking, online collaborative tools, and mobile solutions for education



  • Master’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, or related fields
  • Experience leading/managing instructional design teams in higher education 
  • Experience designing and delivering academic courses and faculty professional development 
  • Teaching experience in higher education, preferably in online & blended environments
