Interlibrary Loan Senior Assistant

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Head of Access Services, the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Lead Assistant is responsible for fulfilling article lending requests on a daily basis. You will provide guidance on workflows/procedures for borrowing, lending, and document delivery requests, utilizing various resource sharing systems and cooperative efforts with other libraries. This position also serves as backup for other staff to ensure consistent uninterrupted request delivery. You will collect appropriate statistics and assists in assessment. This position is responsible for troubleshooting issues related to the resource sharing systems and making minor changes to configuration settings in those systems. The lead hires, trains, and supervises 4-6 student workers in the fall/spring semesters.

 

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED 
  • Four (4) years of experience working in a library setting required

 

Preferred:

  • Experience in an interlibrary loan/resource sharing department 

 

Skills needed:

  • Ability to:

  • Demonstrates flexibility, open-mindedness, and the ability to function in a dynamic, rapidly changing academic environment
  • Excellent computer skills and the ability to use standard office software programs
  • Knowledge of ILLiad, OCLC Worldshare ILL, Tipasa, and Alma or other integrated library systems preferred
