Job Summary
The College of Liberal Arts is seeking to add a Lead Administrative Assistant to our Department of Philosophy. This role will work on a team with the Department Head and other administrative staff to effectively and efficiently maintain all department operations. This role will oversee day-to-day operations and will play a primary role in time sensitive departmental matters such as hiring, graduate program coordination, scheduling, and finance.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Four years of experience in an administrative support role.
Skills Needed:
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Advanced computer and related software skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support department needs.
- Ability to interpret policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues or improve processes.
- Ability to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions.
- Drafting, proofreading, and editing skills.
- Ability to lead others and provide direction and constructive feedback.
What is Helpful:
- Fluency in Purdue systems such as Unitime, Success Factors, Slate, Administrative Banner.
