Position Description

The Department of Curriculum & Instruction (https://www.education.purdue.edu/edci/) at Purdue University invites applications for a 9-month Lecturer position in English Language Learner Education and Gifted, Creative, Talented Studies to begin January 2023. In this position, the faculty member will be expected to teach a 3/3 load of courses in our undergraduate programs, with course coordination and field supervision components. In addition, the faculty member will be expected to contribute to faculty service requirements.

Required Qualifications

Applicant documents should demonstrate that they meet the following:

a) Hold at least a Master’s degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Literacy and Language, Bilingual Education, or a closely related field

b) Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in K-12 settings

c) Teaching experience with emergent bilinguals (English learners) and/or students with gifts and talents in K-12 schools

d) Supervising field experiences with pre-service teachers

e) A record of teaching excellence

Preferred Qualifications

a) Proficient in a language other than English

b) Expertise in identifying and serving students with gifts and talents

c) Knowledge of current issues with education of ELL and/or students with gifts and talents

d) Expertise in twice-exceptionalities

 

 

Starting Date

January 2023
