Marketing Strategist

Job Summary:

The Marketing Strategist will assist the Marketing team in sharing Purdue Online’s story. As one of Purdue Online’s storytellers you will increase brand awareness and generate engagement for online programs through strategic marketing planning. The Marketing Strategist is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive and coordinated marketing strategies through a variety of campaigns in alignment with Purdue University’s master brand.

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to: development of marketing strategies, implementation of marketing plans, content marketing, implementation of social media campaigns, implementation of Google ads, and budget management.

 

This is a remote position.

 

Marketing Strategist

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field 
  • Two (2) years of previous experience in one or more of the following: marketing management, strategic planning, administering and executing a marketing/communications plan, and working with marketing agencies to maximize recruitment efforts 
    • In lieu of degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge and interest in higher education with a focus on online learning specific to new student recruitment 
  • Planning and organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective time management skills  
  • Good written and oral communication skills  
  • Ability to follow guidelines, structure and established policy while working with others  
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, often under tight deadlines 
  • Must be a self-starter, highly organized, and possess top level business management, interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skills

 
Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, or closely related field  
  • Experience with online programs 
  • Experience working in a marketing and communication function within a university setting
