Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide primary care for eligible patients, maintaining a contemporary scope of practice in college health
  • Administer medical service functions, including policies, procedures, and staff scheduling
  • Coordinate quality improvement programs and supervise nurse practitioners
  • Deliver direct patient care and address medical care-related issues
  • Participate in medical staff recruitment and conduct annual performance reviews
  • Serve as medical director for radiology and pharmacy services
  • Act as primary administrative back-up for the Health Center Senior Director

What We Are Looking For

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with unlimited license to practice medicine in the state of Indiana
  • Four (4) years of experience beyond residency training
  • Board Certification (Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Medicine-Pediatrics/adolescent) 

 

Preferred:

  • Supervision of physician lead, physicians,  and advanced practice clinicians in a multidisciplinary healthcare facility
  • Clinical experience with an emphasis on family medicine or equivalent
  • Administrative experience


Skills:

  • Knowledge of rules, regulations and standards of care required to administer Health Center policies and procedures required.  
  • Knowledge of the regulatory authority governing the practice of Nurse Practitioners in the state of Indiana necessary.  
  • Comprehensive knowledge of primary care principles, methods and procedures and basic emergency care essential.  
  • Must be able to establish priorities and make decisions while using problem-solving skills to carry out responsibilities.  
  • Ability to manage and build consensus with a group of physicians and extended care providers to ensure quality care, evidence-based practice and cost effective services essential.  
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative work relationships with patients, staff, and peers required.  
  • Must be skilled in working with highly trained and diverse medical staff.  Strong interpersonal, listening, written/verbal communication, and organizational skills 
  • Candidate must be able to demonstrate high level of judgment and discretion.
