What You'll be Doing:
Under the general direction of a supervisor, the duties of the Multi-Craft Crew Chief include, but are not limited to, performing and supervising the repair, installation, and preventive maintenance of university property. Utilize a strong knowledge of blueprints, schematics, computer programs, technical manuals, and catalogs. Work with vendors, engineers, co-workers, and other administrators as necessary in the performance of duties. Assist supervisory staff in prioritizing and monitoring the activities of personnel and functions. Assist personnel with troubleshooting and completing work orders in a timely manner. Take appropriate action to address material and personnel bottlenecks, including communicating with vendors and expeditors. Identify and correct personnel and equipment safety issues and advise supervision of corrective actions taken to prevent recurrence. Create, print, and close SAP work orders. The Multi-Craft Crew Chief is subject to 24-hour call-back for emergencies, fire, and vandalism.
The targeted rate for this position is $32.65 per hour, plus benefits. The hiring supervisor will determine the final salary based on the successful candidate’s education and experience.

What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience
Qualified Candidates Will Need:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5+ years of experience in either Carpentry, Electrical, General Construction, Indoor Air Quality, Masonry, Plumbing and/or steam fitting, Refrigeration, Sheet Metal or Welding
- College coursework or Vocational/Technical school preferred
Skills Needed:
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations
- Computer skills/familiarity with word processor and spreadsheets
- Must have general craft knowledge including but not limited to Carpentry, Electrical, General Construction, Indoor Air Quality, Masonry, Plumbing and/or steam fitting, Refrigeration, Sheet Metal or Welding
- Ability to successfully complete supervisory training courses
- Must be able to learn and work with SAP
- Valid driver's license required
