Job Description: Student Electronic Shop ETS Tester

Job Summary

The Student Emergency Telephone System (ETS) Tester will assist the Electronic Shop with the weekly testing of over 300 ETS units located throughout the West Lafayette campus.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily checks on ETS units across campus.
• Collaborate closely with the team to learn and perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of various types of phone equipment.
• Complete daily logs and report system problems promptly.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to all procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Keep vehicles and equipment in good working condition.
• Collaborate effectively with team members, including Purdue University Police Dispatch
• Must be able to follow basic oral and written instructions.

Experience

• Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
• Required to work outdoors approximately 80% of the time in temperatures below 32°F and above 90°F.
• Valid driver's License required

Work Environment

• Work is indoors/outdoors and not sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
• Frequently walks and drives to various locations across campus to fulfill job duties.
• This is an on-campus, in-person position.

Job Type: Temporary, Seasonal

Pay:   $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

Schedule: 4-hour shift

Day shift:   10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Monday to Friday; occasional overtime may be required
