Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary

The successful candidate will serve as a pharmacy technician in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.  Assist pharmacist with filling prescriptions for medications.  Maintain adequate stock and research new pharmaceuticals and price points, this requires a strong understanding of inventory analysis.  Obtain certification to work in a clean room.  Performs non-sterile compounding while meeting the federal standards set by state law.  Perform clerical duties such as computer entry, record keeping, answering phones, client communication, and collecting client payments.



  • High school diploma/GED
  • Three years of experience in a pharmacy, medical field, or veterinary medicine
  • Must be able to obtain Indiana pharmacy technician certification within 12 months of hire
  • Must qualify for clean room certification through on the job training
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to read and write English and have the ability to follow verbal and written instruction
  • Skills in record keeping, basic math, and organization a must
  • Electronic email and data entry skills



  • Current Indiana pharmacy technician certification
  • Experience in a hospital pharmacy setting
  • Microsoft word/outlook skills
