Photo and Video Project Coordinator

Job Summary

The Photo and Video Project Coordinator is responsible for the successful execution of photography and video shoots and projects within Purdue Marketing and Communications by ensuring the brief/scope, resources and timelines are adhered to throughout the creative process, managing logistics, and ensuring all needs and services required for the shoot are secured. This position coordinates the work of the video and photo team, collaborating with leadership, strategists, project managers and numerous outside vendors to achieve desired outcomes.  


The Photo and Video Project Coordinator leads logistics planning for photo and video shoots and solves problems when they arise. This individual works closely with internal and external partners to ensure top talent is being scouted, sourced and secured. This individual will lead location scouting efforts and cultivate relationships with campus units to ensure access to desired locations and venues. This includes creating and maintaining a comprehensive location database to serve as a departmental resource. This individual will manage the photo and video equipment inventory to ensure equipment is maintained and available when needed.

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Production Manager, this position is a member of the Marketing Operations team, which provides project management and production leadership for all Purdue Marketing and Communications projects.


This will be a hybrid (remote/on-campus) position and will require some evening and weekend hours



  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field
  • Two (2) years of project coordination (photo and video shoot logistics and scheduling, location scouting, and talent management) within a creative agency, marketing operations such as or related area
  • Highly organized with ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Expert attention to detail
  • Independent worker who can think on their feet and problem-solve quickly when issues arise
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to create and cultivate relationships
  • Customer service orientation with a “can-do” attitude
  • Demonstrated high levels of empowerment, learning agility and a desire to improve
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to identify, analyze and implement processes that support efficient and effective marketing operations



  • Knowledge of video production 
  • Knowledge of Adobe Workfront and PhotoShelter
