Post Doc Research Associate

Job Summary

Postdoctoral position in Human Development and Family Studies at Purdue University with Dr. Sara Schmitt

Dr. Sara Schmitt is seeking to hire a postdoctoral researcher to collaborate on studies examining 1) the effects of targeted, classroom-based interventions that are designed to improve executive function and other school readiness skills (e.g., mathematics), 2) the efficacy of early childhood policies for promoting school readiness and later academic achievement, and 3) contextual influences on the development of executive function. The position is for one year, with the potential for an additional year depending on performance.

Responsibilities may include: data management, data cleaning, manuscript and report preparation, project management, presentation of findings, and development and administration of coding schemes for video recordings.

Required Qualifications
•    PhD in Education, Psychology, Human Development, Communication Disorders, or related field completed by the start of the employment
•    Experience with managing and cleaning large data sets
•    Background expertise in executive function and school readiness

Additional Desired Qualifications
•    Experience working with STATA or motivation and ability to learn
•    Ability to work collaboratively with a research team
•    Experience developing or implementing interventions with schools or families

Start date is negotiable, but preferred start is no later than August 15th, 2020.
