Professor Clinical Assistant

Purdue University’s Department of Computer and Information Technology invites applications for a clinical/professional faculty position at the West Lafayette campus beginning in August 2020. The department’s mission focuses primarily on teaching, educational scholarship through applied research and industry/professional engagement.

The Clinical Assistant Professor in Computer and Information Technology (CIT) will teach the introductory programming courses CIT first year students as well as the required introductory programming service courses for the Purdue Polytechnic. The position involves the preparation and delivery of course lectures to large enrollment classes using active learning pedagogical practices, the preparation of all course assessments and lab materials, and the management of teaching assistants as assigned.

 

The selected candidate is expected to participate in both undergraduate and graduate education assignments. A minimum of an earned Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field is required. Responsibilities include teaching and engagement with industry, the community and colleagues within the IT discipline.
