Job Summary

The Office of Academic Programs (OAP) is seeking a Program Administration Specialist. In this role, you will provide comprehensive coordination and operational support for signature student programs on behalf of OAP. With oversight from the Senior Associate Dean for OAP, you will oversee or manage logistics, track project deadlines and deliverables, and follow up with partners to keep initiatives on schedule. You will facilitate relevant administrative processes, collaborate with partners internal and external to Purdue, and often serve as an on-site operational lead to ensure high-quality program delivery.

 

Furthermore, this position coordinates communications such as newsletters and social media promotions, and supports College of Agriculture recruitment efforts such as event coordination, student engagement, and outreach initiatives at the direction of the Assistant Director for Recruitment & Outreach.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Signature Program Support for OAP including but not limited to College of Agriculture Spring Start, Ag Lead Pro, career fair support, SCARF & Issues-360 support, Spring Awards Banquet and support for Transfer Programs
  • Coordinating, overseeing, or assisting with event logistics for signature programs
  • Drafting and distributing communications related to student programming
  • Facilitating student-facing administrative processes (applications, registrations, scheduling, reimbursements)
  • Working with faculty, staff, and other partners to implement program details
  • Leading on-campus university recruitment events for the College of Agriculture
    • “Boiler Gold Rush” College of Ag Carnival, “Purdue’s For Me” events, and “Introducing Purdue” events as assigned by leadership
  • Supporting recruitment and outreach initiatives as assigned
  • Supporting student engagement initiatives as needed
  • Leading efforts for OAP communications to promote programs and events
    • Weekly student newsletter distribution
    • College of Ag students Instagram engagement
  • Collaborating with the College of Agriculture communications department to support OAP marketing and communications projects as needed
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned by the Senior Associate Dean and Director of Academic Programs

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 years of relevant, professional experience. (Relevant experience may include but is not limited to: Higher Education experience (e.g. recruitment, project management), recruitment activities/engaging with prospective students, program coordination or facilitation, event planning, and promotion, collaborating with partners, collaborating with industry)
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Excellent public relations skills with the ability to address and engage small and large groups of people when necessary
  • Detail oriented and strong data, fiscal management, and organizational skills
  • Independent problem-solving and judgment skills
  • Ability to travel and work some nights and weekends 

 

Nice to Have: 

  • Master’s degree in program administration, project management, economics, agricultural economics, marketing, business, higher education, leadership, or related field
  • A sound grasp and understanding of the university recruitment, marketing, and orientation process
  • Willingness to work in a changing environment
  • Knowledge of programs and majors at Purdue University
