Job Title:  Program Manager, Semiconductor Initiative

Job Summary

The Program Manager, Semiconductor Initiative will direct and manage the international research, education, and training programs and partnership relationships associated with the Purdue Semiconductor Initiative.  Working in conjunction with respective faculty leads, international partners, and relevant Purdue units, the position will support the semiconductor initiative through developing, managing, and assessing faculty and student mobility programs; facilitating collaboration and support international research and development (R&D) efforts; managing and assessing relevant education and training programs to meet workforce development goals; providing financial stewardship and meeting project reporting requirements; and leveraging partners and Purdue resources to support corporate relationships and provide event planning and execution support. The position will supervise program support staff and implement, assess, and improve operational and program plans to achieve and expand measurable results and outcomes in supporting the research and workforce development objectives of the semiconductor initiative within the budgets of the associated projects and programs. The position will report to the Assistant Dean of GEPP and the Purdue Chief Semiconductor Officer (CSO) and support the faculty leads of semiconductor initiatives. The position will also be expected to develop effective working relationships with units and offices within Purdue as well as with domestic and international partners and government organizations.

What We Are Looking For

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, STEM discipline, or other related discipline
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in program and/or personnel management in technology or education projects and programs
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered

 

PREFERRED:

  • Master’s degree (with at least one degree in engineering, science, technology, management, or other related field)
  • Experience in higher education international engagement and/or research programs
  • 3-4 years of program management experience

 

SKILLS:
REQUIRED:            

  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Project and personnel management and organizational skills
  • Effective cross-cultural communication and teamwork, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Detail-oriented and ability to delegate, prioritize, and manage multiple competing deadlines and objectives
  • Ability to maintain composure under stress and tight schedule
  • Ability to work with faculty effectively
  • Ability to travel internationally

 

PREFERRED:

  • Foreign language skills
  • Semiconductor related experiences
  • Event planning and execution experience
