Project Manager, New Online Program Development

Job Summary

This 12-month staff position reports to the Managing Director for New Professional, Continuing, and Online Offerings supporting new online program development across Purdue University. Purdue University Online’s Project Manager for New Online Program Development is a fully competent and productive professional that leads and coordinates the planning and execution of new online projects  which may be large or moderately complex by managing the steps of the launch process in collaboration with faculty and Purdue University Online (PUO) functional team partners; provides operational support for the Managing Director; manages the launch database; partners with the New Program Development Team to improve the efficiency of new online program development; and assists with other projects as needed. This position manages new online projects across the entire end-to-end launch process, requiring collaboration with PUO functional teams including Marketing, Recruiting, Advising, Student Success Coaching, Course Production, Business Partnerships, and Administrative Leads to define project scope, deliverables, schedule, and budget. The ability to establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external constituents is essential to the success of the Project Manager for New Online Program Development.

 

This position will be filled as a hybrid or remote position determined by the hiring manager.

 

This is a Dual Level posting to be filled as a P2 / P3, based on education, experience, and skills.

What We’re Looking For:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Management, or related field
  • Two years’ experience in higher education involving interaction with faculty, administrators, and educational programs
  • In lieu of degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Skills Needed: 

  • Prior experience as a project manager
  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal, communication, time management, project management, and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented, have good analytical skills, and ability to quickly become an expert in the rules, policies, and procedures governing online degree programs
  • Ability to work independently and on a team

 

What is helpful (Preferred):

  • Four years’ experience in higher education involving interaction with faculty, administrators, and educational programs
  • Prefer experience with online program management, development, or instruction; computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office and project management databases
  • Prior experience with budgets and business planning; experience with online program management, development, or instruction
  • Computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office and project management databases
