Project Manager

Job Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of creative projects within Purdue Marketing and Communications by ensuring the project plan, processes, schedule, and budget are adhered to throughout the project. The Project Manager coordinates the work of the creative team, collaborating with teams within and outside the department to achieve desired outcomes.  


 
Utilizing project management software, the Project Manager creates project plans, assigns work, develops estimates, maintains project schedules and oversees all project workflows from launch through delivery. This individual works closely with the team’s marketing strategist to lead the team and ensure resourcing and priorities are aligned with demands. The Project Manager collaborates daily with their cross-functional team to discuss status, proactively remove roadblocks, and troubleshoot problems that arise.  


 
This position reports to the Assistant Director, Marketing Operations. 

 

 

This will be a hybrid (remote/on-campus) position

 


Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field
  • Two (2) years of experience successfully managing creative projects or working with creative teams in an agency or marketing department setting
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
  • Ability to successfully lead cross-functional teams and build consensus 
  • Effective management of multiple projects, teams, and priorities 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to quickly develop and implement solutions 
  • Customer service orientation with a “can-do” attitude 
  • Affinity for detail-oriented tasks 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Focus on continuous quality improvement 
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with external and internal constituents 

 

Preferred:

  • Experience with Workfront, especially within a creative agency environment
