Job Summary

Administrative Operations | Purdue University | West Lafayette, Indiana

 

The Real Estate Associate supports the execution and operational oversight of University real estate activities, including leasing, property acquisition and disposition, and portfolio management. Serving as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, this role drives efficiency, transaction compliance, and strategic alignment across the real estate lifecycle.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Transaction & Lease Management: Assist the planning, negotiation, and execution of leases and strategic real estate initiatives, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and best practices and that the portfolio is ensuring the portfolio is managed proactively and in alignment with institutional objectives.

Stakeholder & Project Coordination: Partner directly with University units to define project scope, deliverables, schedules, and budgets, securing all necessary organizational approvals.

Portfolio & Data Administration: Maintain real estate databases, records, and legal documentation to support proactive property management and optimal space utilization.

Analysis & Problem Solving: Apply established procedures and analytical methods to resolve operational challenges and streamline transaction processes.

 

This is a hybrid position where you will need to be on campus two (2) days a week.

What We're Looking For

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field
  • One (1) year of experience in real estate, leasing or property management

 

Skills Required:

  • Skill in:
    • organizing resources and establishing priorities
    • the use of personal computers and related software applications
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups
  • Strong interpersonal and community relations skills and the ability to work effectively within a diverse community
  • Research, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of:
    • organizational structures, workflow, and operating procedures
    • marketing strategies, processes, and available resources
    • real estate, leasing, and property management
    • business practices and procedures
  • Familiarity with coordination and preparation of leasing and other real property legal documents such as, property ownership files, surveys, deeds, easements, or similar related documents
  • Ability to:
    • foster a cooperative work environment
    • analyze and interpret the needs of customers and offer appropriate solutions
    • understand basic development and construction principles and techniques
    • review and evaluate contractor proposals and bids
    • summarize data, draw conclusions and inferences, and prepare reports and/or presentations
    • perform complex tasks and to manage multiple projects

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is between $44,500 to 61,900 annually commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience. The final salary offer will be determined based on a variety of factors, including equity, available budget, educational background, and relevant experience.
