$12.10/hour Weekly average, approximately 8-12 hours per week
Required hours may include days, evenings, and weekends. The typical position schedule is between 7am-4pm (M-F) and will work around your class schedule.

Employment Summary
You will be providing critical services in the RecWell indoor facilities while working with an experienced team of maintenance service professionals while gaining experience in teamwork and networking.
Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to): assisting maintenance staff with fitness equipment repairs, painting, general facility repairs or projects, installation & care for site amenities, and/or other duties as assigned. Employees may be expected to report on the status of a site and care for the site either independently or as a team.
Our goal is to help students develop and grow by cultivating an environment where they will be able to use their critical thinking and interpersonal skills to design, manage, and identify improvement opportunities and problem-solve for projects in spaces in Purdue RecWell.
Prerequisite(s)
Experience considered but not required. You will be contacted by RecWell Indoor Maintenance for an interview if you meet the qualifications. An interview is not a guarantee of employment.
Qualifications
- Ability to multi-task, work within deadlines, and be a self-starter.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Be timely and organized.
- Lift up to 40 lbs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Flexible and dependable with a strong attention to detail.
- Problem solving, logic and reasoning skills (analytical prowess).
- Customer service oriented.
Position Responsibilities
- Maintain safety and risk management standards of the department.
- Handle emergency situations and prioritize responsibilities while continuing to provide the highest level of customer service.
- Responsible for all scheduled shifts.
- Exhibit friendliness, diplomacy, and tact when responding to guests and staff.
- Provide feedback from a student lens.
- Demonstrate staff development periodically (collaborative learning, assist in the development of work culture, and relate learned skills across varied disciplines).
- Other duties as assigned.
