Job Description
The primary role of the Esports Summer Camp Coordinator position is to lead and assist in esports day camps, hosted by Recreation and Wellness, for participants entering 7th to 12th grade, who are looking to learn more about esports/gaming, engage with others of similar interest, and build their holistic wellness. Camp coordinators will be responsible for leading campers through various sessions, including focuses on competitive gameplay, broadcasting, esports management, interpersonal development, and other gaming-related involved areas.
Prerequisite(s)
- Punctuality and ability to attend mandatory meetings/training.
- Basic knowledge of computing, information technology, and technology systems
- Knowledge of popular esports titles and how the games operate
- Need to be cleared by Youth Protection Services
Qualifications
- Must be actively enrolled at Purdue University or Purdue Global
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Foundational teaching skills
- Flexible and dependable with a strong attention to detail
- Problem solving, logic and reasoning skills.
- Customer service oriented
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Be timely and organized
Position Responsibilities
- Work effectively and collaborate with co-workers to serve patron needs
- Ensure all APGL policies and procedures are enforced.
- Learn and use various required software, such as Fusion and GG.
- Maintain a safe environment by actively controlling access of camp activities areas.
- Have basic knowledge and understanding of all Emergency Action Plan scenarios.
- Other duties as assigned
