The Associate Research Account Specialist will manage a portfolio of faculty research accounts within the College of Pharmacy under the guidance of leadership. This role promotes effective communication among investigator teams and provides support in resolving research-related issues. Responsibilities include preparing budget projections, coordinating reporting processes, and maintaining fiscal and administrative compliance with both University and sponsor policies.

The specialist will serve as a liaison with project participants, sponsors, subcontractors, and internal University offices. They will also assist in addressing key financial questions on behalf of principal investigators. This role may provide coverage during extended staff absences or vacancies and contribute to the training of other staff on research-related duties. Additionally, the specialist may represent the College of Pharmacy in research-related meetings and actively engage in university-wide project teams.

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:

  • BA/BS preferred in Business Administration, Management, Finance or related field of study
  • Account management, financial management or related experience


Skills needed:

  • Ability to analyze, interpret and implement University policies and procedures
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Excellent planning, problem-solving, organizational, project-management and customer service skills
  • Ability to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels
  • Must possess a learning orientation toward changing technology impacting business processes
  • Strong quantitative skills with ability to synthesize complex information and produce quality management reports
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that allows for demands of reporting, implementation of new projects, etc.

 

What's Helpful:

  • Six credit hours of accounting coursework desired
