Job Summary

The Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences Laboratory in Indianapolis, Indiana is seeking a Research Assistant to join our team. The Research Assistant will be responsible for recruitment and data collection for NIH-funded projects on language learning. The position involves occasional duties outside of the laboratory (1-2 x per month), which may include travel to our university laboratory in West Lafayette, IN, and participation in community recruitment and outreach activities.

This is a limited-term duration position for a single year with renewal contingent on performance and availability of funds.

Required:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• Six months of experience in a professional, volunteer, or research setting involving early childhood and/or older adults in health, cognitive, and/or language-focused research.

• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent time management and well-organized.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to accommodate the communication needs of individuals across different ages, individuals from a variety of backgrounds and individuals with varying communication skills.

• This position is located in the SLHS Laboratory in Indianapolis, Indiana.
• This is a limited-term duration position for a single year with renewal contingent on performance and availability of funds.

• FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible For Overtime) 
• Retirement Eligibility: Non-exempt Defined Contribution Plan
