Research Data Analyst

Job Summary

This posting may be filled at multiple levels (P2 or P3). The hiring manager will determine the job level based on the skills, experience, and qualifications of the selected candidate.

 

Research Data Analyst (P2):
The Research Data Analyst in Institutional Data Analytics + Assessment collaborates and leads data analysis and reporting to meet operational needs and support executive decision making. The analyst directly supports the academic enterprise as well as the campus at-large.

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or other related disciplines
  • 2 years of experience in data extraction, processing, visualization, and analysis
  • Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required experience
  • Maintain process documentation
  • Prioritize work, balancing routine with adhoc
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail and an ability to work with large data sets
  • Ability to fit the presentation of data and analyses to the audience (operational or executive)
Senior Research Data Analyst (P3):

 

The Senior Research Data Analyst in Institutional Data Analytics + Assessment collaborates and leads data analysis and reporting to meet operational needs and support executive decision making. The senior analyst directly supports the academic enterprise as well as the campus at-large.

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or other related disciplines
  • 4 years of experience in data extraction, processing, visualization, and analysis
  • Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required experience            
  • Ability to maintain process documentation
  • Prioritize work, balancing routine with adhoc
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail and an ability to work with large data sets
  • Ability to fit the presentation of data and analyses to the audience (operational or executive)
  • Ability to work independently, manage own workload, and interface with clients
  • Ability to train and mentor junior employees

 

Preferred:

  • Master's degree
  • Experience using BI tools (such as Cognos and Tableau) to create and modify reports and dashboards
