Research Operations Administrator, Senior

Job Summary

The Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Food Safety (FSIL) at Purdue University seeks a full-time Research Operations Administrator to manage project activities related to data management, environmental mitigation and monitoring, exchange visitors, travel, and other sponsor required processes. This individual will implement the FSIL’s monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) plan using the Piestar DPx platform as well as serve as the primary point of contact between university parties and external parties for subcontracting processes. Additional duties will include but are not limited to:

 

  • Onboarding new subawards and developing best practices and resources that reinforce compliance with sponsor requirements
  • Leveraging the Piestar DPx platform to manage subaward reporting as well as international travel and equipment requests
  • Contributing to monitoring, evaluation, and learning efforts by compiling and cleaning performance data, as well as developing semi-annual performance reports
  • Administering the Training and Exchanges Automated Management System (TEAMS) platform on behalf of the project
  • Leading design and logistics of events in the U.S. and internationally
  • Managing the Piestar RFx review platform for Request for Applications processes
  • Facilitating regular meetings with FSIL researchers and international collaborators

 

This is a limited duration position through 6/2024. Benefits do apply.

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4 years of experience in project management, research administration, international agriculture or a related field
  • Microsoft suite proficiency
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with demonstrated experience in producing effective project reports and presentations
  • Ability to proactively identify and address problems
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience building working relationships with professionals from academia, industry, and government
  • Ability to travel internationally

 

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in business or agriculture
  • University research project management experience
  • USAID and Innovation Lab project experience
  • Piestar DPx and Piestar RFx experience
  • Experience in international event planning
  • Asana project management software experience
