Research Operations Administrator, Senior

What You'll Be Doing:

As the Senior Research Operations Administrator for outreach and research engagement, you will promote advanced computing resources to enable education and accelerate scientific discovery. You will develop and facilitate internal relationships with the research community by identifying opportunities for collaboration across colleges and departments. This position will develop and cultivate external relationships with individuals in academia, industry, government, nonprofits/civic organizations around RCAC goals.  You will facilitate presentations, tours, and events to promote engagement with K-12 educational institutions. You will engage in local, statewide, and nationwide diversity and inclusion efforts to promote engagement within the advanced research computing community. You will also develop and maintain metrics on outreach and engagement to track performance and provide impact and outcomes assessment for senior leadership.

The Rosen Center for Advance Computing (RCAC) provides access to leading-edge computational and data storage systems as well as expertise in a broad range of high-performance computing activities. To fulfill our mission, we:

  • provide advanced computational resources and services to support Purdue faculty and staff researchers 
  • evaluate, deploy, and support hardware and software for large-scale scientific computing
  • promote the effective use of our research computing systems and application software through training and education, consultation, and documentation
  • contribute to the discovery process through algorithm design and development of effective computing techniques

This position is considered a hybrid position where you will work part of the time on campus and the other part remotely.


What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience

Must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Four (4) years of experience with outreach, community engagement, relationship management, community building, and/or other client-facing engagement with diverse populations, academic disciplines, and sectors
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be accepted



  • Ability to:
    • work as part of a high performing team in a collaborative environment

    • analyze, interpret, and communicate data and assessment of operations and programming efforts 
  • Demonstrated knowledge in research operations and administration related to research
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication, collaboration and team building skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to plan, organize and prioritize tasks, and complete projects with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate mission and vision through outreach efforts (e.g. presentations, tours, and events)
