Research Program Manager - Center for Alzheimer's Disease Drug Discovery

The Research Program Manager for the Alzheimer’s Disease Drug Discovery Center (ADDD Center) within the Purdue University Institute for Drug Discovery will be responsible for advancing the integration of research core activities and execution of the ADDD Center portfolio of projects. The program manager will work closely with the technical research core leaders to ensure a consistent management function across areas and to facilitate communication and alignment between contributing scientists and institutions.  The position will also provide a structure for managing dynamic budget decisions, timelines, and processes across ADDD Center activities.  The program manager will assist with ADDD Center communications and reporting requirements with stakeholders, government agencies, and the broader public.  This will include the writing of reports, creation/maintenance of website/social media accounts, design of posters, and public presentations of research.  The program manager will also assist in coordinating meetings and interactions with external partners.

This position will be supported for the duration of the five-year contract of the ADDD Center.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science (e.g. biology, chemistry, biochemistry or related field)
  • Two (2) years of experience leading an academic center or institute and/or project management experience in a technical related field  
  • Expertise in therapeutic drug discovery with experience in coordinating research programs and project portfolio management
  •  Knowledge of general biology, molecular biology, and chemistry techniques
  •  Advanced skills in communication, word processing, and generation of powerpoint presentations
  •  Familiarity with Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)


  • Ph.D. in Life Science 
  • Experience in Alzheimer’s Disease or other neurodegenerative diseases 
  • Experience with creation and maintenance of websites and social media platforms
