Research Scientist

What You'll Be Doing:

As the Research Scientist, you will design and direct research projects in the fields of energetic materials and machine learning. You will analyze data, apply machine learning techniques, train students in analyzing data, author publications, and deliver technical presentations. In this position you should have a strong background in research and development focused around:

1. machine learning
2. energetic materials
3. experimental data and analysis, including both mechanical and ballistic testing. 

Core responsibilities are to: 

• Co-lead the machine learning efforts on continuing DARPA project
• Contributing to continuing and new Army Center and collaborative agreements
• Develop improved machine learning methods for analysis of mechanical and ballistic propellant data
• Deliver technical presentations at conferences or meetings
• Advise and train students on lab protocols and best practices regarding experimentation, data collection, data analysis, and research methods to support smooth lab operations and analysis
   

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience
Must have:

• Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
• Four (4) years of direct experience in machine learning applied to propellants or other energetic materials

Must have Skills:

• Knowledge of experimental data uncertainty machine learning technics and data acquisition
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
