Job Summary
The Research Security and Export Controls (RSEC) Specialist provides entry-level support for compliance activities related to research security and U.S. export control regulations. This role involves performing basic compliance checks, identifying potential red flags, and escalating issues for review. Under supervision, the Specialist conducts low-level reviews and assists with screenings of events, activities, institutions and individuals. During peak workload periods, the specialists may assist analysts with data entry and documentation. The Specialist also supports the team by tracking and documenting regulatory changes, file checks and internal auditing of records.
This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to follow established procedures while learning the fundamentals of research security and export control compliance.

What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., international relations, compliance, or business administration).
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies in information.
- Basic understanding of compliance principles; willingness to learn research security and export control frameworks.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow established procedures and escalate issues appropriately.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in compliance, research administration, or related areas
