Job Summary

Job Summary:

The Health and Human Sciences Research Services Coordinator is a strategic facilitator enabling effective communication between faculty-led research laboratories, the business office, and sponsored programs (pre- and post-award) to aid in the efficient management of research grants. This position supports faculty throughout the lifecycle of awards assisting in coordination of budget formulation, financial oversight, reporting, project closeout, and other tasks. The coordinator will also assist with compliance with institutional and sponsor requirements. Overall, the position will assist with faculty in the following contexts: 1. Serve as a point of contact for managing interactions between faculty, business office, and Sponsored Program Services and 2. Support research initiatives by coordinating various administrative, compliance, planning, and technical tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, project management and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to successfully coordinate multiple tasks effectively.

Required:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Business Administration, Management, or related field.
  • One year of experience in a Senior or Lead Administrative Support or related role.
  • In lieu of degree, a combination of education and experience will be considered (High School Diploma + 5 years of experience).

 

Skills Needed:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professionalism as a collegial team member.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to efficiently multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Aptitude for detailed record keeping.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive environment supporting efforts to advance health research.

 

What Is Helpful:

  • Experience with one or more University regulatory processes or systems (IE: budgetary systems, contracting, grant reporting, etc.).
  • Experience in research administration.
  • Familiarity with research reporting guidelines.

The anticipated annual rate for this position is $47,800 commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience. The final salary offer will be determined based on a variety of factors, including equity, available budget, educational background, and relevant experience.
