Job Summary
As the Senior Administrative Assistant, you will support undergraduate Agriculture student advising, curriculum, and retention efforts. Through careful planning and thoughtful communication, this position coordinates data reports, prepares correspondence to students, staff and partners, coordinates events and meetings, and provides logistical and technical support as needed to serve the goals and initiatives of College of Agriculture students, staff, faculty, and the Office of Academic Programs as a whole. In addition to duties already outlined, you will be responsible for the following:
- Providing administrative support for the Senior Assistant Director and the Student Success Specialist
- Acting as schedule deputy for all AGR courses; serving as backup schedule deputy for additional areas as needed
- Assisting with logistical needs for courses taught by the Senior Assistant Director and Student Success Specialist
- Recording meeting minutes and manage documents for Curriculum Student Relations Committee
- Assisting with commencement by organizing and tracking degree audits and assisting with review of undergraduate candidates for graduation/degree clearance
- Maintaining and updating website content for web pages and online databases related to position
- Reconciling travel expenses using Concur
- Providing occasional backup for other support staff positions
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Dean & Director of Academic Programs
What We're Looking For:
- High school diploma/GED
- 3 years of experience in an administrative support role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
- Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
- Advanced computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support department needs
- Ability to interpret policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues or improve processes
- Ability to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions
- Drafting, proofreading and editing skills
