Job Summary
This position requires a responsible and reliable individual, able to work independently, under minimal supervision, or as a contributing team member. As the main Materials Engineering front facing first point of contact, excellent communication skills, both spoken, and written, along with providing a welcoming environment are essential. Serving as the graduate program administrative assistant, assisting grad admissions and grad committees, attention to detail, accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up are crucial with a high level of productivity, accuracy, and confidentiality. May assist the Lead Administrative Assistant, and Program Administrator providing high level administrative support to Department Head and Faculty. Planning, hosting and logistics for school events, meetings, and participation may be required. Notification and disbursement of scholarships and fellowships, along with sending offer letters once graduate student applicants are reviewed and accepted. Management of graduate office spaces, and keys. Overseeing student clerical assistant worker tasks, and requesting their assistance as needed. Coordinating itineraries and travel reimbursements for visiting guests, speakers, and prospective graduate students. Serves as school liaison for many areas, directing guests, students, and faculty as needed to appropriate departments and procedures, so Purdue experience is beneficial, but not required.
This is a full-time, onsite position with hours Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm (EST).

Required:
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma/GED.
Three years in an administrative or clerical role.
Skills Needed:
Strong time management with meticulous organization and timeliness skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).
Experience in basic AV skills, Google Docs, Adobe Suite, and other Purdue Systems preferred.
What is Helpful:
Experience working with Purdue Systems: procurement, travel, shipping, building/computer support, event planning, space management.
