Job Summary
Purdue University and the Daniels School of Business are looking for a person who is proactive, creative, positive, and customer-focused to become its next Senior Administrative Assistant. As the Senior Administrative Assistant, you will provide administrative support to an assigned department, working with the Department Head and its faculty. You’ll assist with faculty teaching and research, recruitment and guest speaker coordination or conference planning. You’ll manage information requests, assist with written presentations, reports and surveys, and track budgets. Our school is growing and experiencing many changes. What We’re Looking For:
Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:
- Requires a high school diploma/GED.
- 3 years of experience in an administrative support role.
Skills needed:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.
- Advanced computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support department needs.
- Ability to interpret policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues or improve processes.
- Ability to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions.
- Drafting, proofreading and editing skills.
