Senior Administrative Assistant

The Senior Administrative Assistant will provide high-level administrative support to Indiana Manufacturing Competitiveness Center's (INMAC) Executive Directors and a subgroup of staff.  Major administrative responsibilities include maintaining calendars, scheduling meetings and events, arranging travel, creating/reviewing correspondence, and proactively resolving issues.  You will also have the opportunity to provide guidance, coaching, and training within the department, and will be a resource for questions related to systems and procedures.  Other duties may include monitoring operational budgets, maintaining financial records, creating promotional materials and maintaining websites, databases and mailing lists.



  • High school diploma/GED
  • Four (4) years of clerical or office support experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively support the department and customer needs
  • Experience editing and composing correspondence and office communications
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within the department and to address customer needs
  • Ability to influence and build productive working relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels
  • Experience coordinating large events and/or projects
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues or improve processes
  • Experience providing guidance, coaching, and training
  • Ability to inspire confidence and cooperation
  • Proficient in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint



  • Experience with Purdue systems software including Ariba, Filelocker, Coeus, Concur, Blackbird/Brightspace and Cognos
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures
  • Website management and maintenance skills
