Senior Administrative Assistant

Job Summary

Purdue University and the Krannert School of Management are looking for a person with strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail to become its next Senior Administrative Assistant within the Purdue Center for Economic Education (PCEE). Also in the future the BEEP (Purdue Center for Behavioral Economics, Experiments, and Public Policy) Center. As the Senior Administrative Assistant for PCEE & BEEP, you will serve as the primary administrative contact person for both Centers within the Department of Economics. There will be a need to provide high-level administrative support for an individual, group of professionals, department, program, or other administrative function. Independently perform non-routine administrative functions exercising discretion, such as Coordinate workshops (i.e., collecting registration fees, preparing materials, maintaining a database of participants, and preparing workshop reports for outside agencies regarding student evaluations, expenditures, and budgets). Coordinate communications with the Indiana Council for Economic Education and with teachers and school administrators. Manage graduate assistants and student workers as needed.



  • High school diploma/GED
  • 3 years of experience in an administrative support role or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
  • Advanced computer and related software skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support department needs
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues or improve processes
  • Ability to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions
  • Drafting, proofreading, and editing skills
