Senior Administrative Assistant

About Our Opportunity:

The Senior Administrative Assistant will provide high level support to the Associate Dean for Research and Partnerships and the Associate Dean for Graduate Education and Strategic Initiatives. This role will provide project management support for a variety of ongoing special projects as well as respond to telephone calls, manage calendars, schedule appointments, organize meetings and make travel arrangements. This position will analyze requests, research materials and prepare background materials. The Senior Assistant will work closely with the Senior Operations Manager to oversee the efficient running of the Dean’s main office area, while also serving as the back up to the second Administrative Assistant and the Senior Operations Manager.


What We’re Looking For:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Four years of secretarial or office administrative support.
  • Experience in coordination and organization of special programs related to research and graduate students.
  • Excellent oral & written communication, interpersonal, organizational, decision-making and time management skills.
  • Ability to balance interruptions, multiple and varied tasks and confidential information with discretion. 
  • Creativity and professionalism with the ability to effectively interpret and communicate policy.
  • Ability to take initiatives to solve problems, assume responsibility, establish and maintain quality standards.
  • Ability to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels.
  • High-level skills in word processing, spreadsheet, data query, calendaring software, internet etc.
  • Ability to compose correspondence and the ability to take the initiative on work assignments effectively working with minimal supervision.


  • University experience.
