Job Summary

The Senior Administrative Assistant will provide high-level administrative support to the Maha Fluid Power Center. In this role, you will play a crucial role in supporting the efficient functioning of the Maha Fluid Power Research Center (located at 1500 Kepner Dr., Lafayette, IN). Maha is a vibrant research lab which engages industry members through research conferences, workshops, and student recruitment events.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for the Maha Center, working directly with faculty, students, staff and industry partners
  • Manage the Maha’s center’s digital presence, including websites, social media channels, and online communication platforms to ensure consistent and accurate messaging
  • Assist in preparation and distribution of Maha Center announcements and other materials to industry members and the media, including press releases, media advisories, and other materials
  • Maintaining organized records, coordinating schedules, facilitating communication, and assisting in various administrative tasks within the center activities and events
  • Event/visitation logistics and on-site management

What We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 3 years of experience in an administrative support role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
  • Advanced computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support department needs
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues or improve processes
  • Ability to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions
  • Drafting, proofreading and editing skills
