Senior Advisor, Lean Facilitator

The Senior Advisor, Lean Facilitator (formally named Managing Advisor) is responsible for providing training, coaching, and lean improvement event facilitation on the client site and remotely. The successful candidate will receive training and coaching in PHA's lean tools and methods to perform the following duties:

  • Prepare and deliver multi-day lean training experience at the client site
  • Provide post-training coaching to help the client prepare for, deliver, and facilitate to closure lean improvement events and earn their certification; this includes managing content and supporting members as they use Purdue's Online Community of Practice for Operational Excellence in Healthcare
  • Prepare, deliver, and facilitate to closure with minimal supervision 1-5 day Kaizen events including complex events that involve rapid experiments using PHA's nine-step A3 problem-solving process; this includes, for example, working with client teams to implement improvements for all the elements of PHA's framework for a lean service cell including, demand, flow dynamics (push/pull and one-piece/batch) standard work, 5S (sort, straighten, shine, standardize, and sustain) and visual management
  • Work with clients to implement and run a lean daily improvement process (data collection, visual management, and problem-solving huddles) to ensure improvements are sustained.


  • Bachelor's degree
  • Five years of professional experience in manufacturing, service, or healthcare
  • In lieu of a degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience.
  • Advanced skills in training, learning facilitation. and cross-functional team facilitation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively in a fast-paced work environment
  • Interest in earning certifications
  • A valid US or Canadian Driver's license 
  • Office computer skills
  • Strict adherence to Purdue confidentiality policies


  • Master's degree
  • Experience with hospitals, clinics, or other healthcare providers
  • Experience as an internal or external consultant

  • This position requires the ability to travel up to 75% of the time (travel may be in or out of state)

  • FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible For Overtime).
